CIRCA BARBERSHOP / EST. 2014

ONE CHAIR.
THEN
ANOTHER.

Circa started in the dressing room of a men's clothing store in Columbia, South Carolina. The idea was simple: serve people well, take the craft seriously, and build something worth coming back to.

01 / THE BEGINNING

2014

START
SMALL.

Circa began with one chair inside Circa Mercantile Company in Columbia, SC. From the beginning, the focus was intentionally uncomplicated: thoughtful service, quality haircuts, precise beard work, and treating people like they matter. There was no grand plan to build a large company. The next step came from serving the person in the chair well, then doing it again.

02 / THE SHOPS

SMALL
ON PURPOSE.

As Circa grew, the shops stayed personal. We have always liked spaces that feel close to the neighborhood and close to the people inside them. No unnecessary fuss. Just a comfortable chair, a barber who listens, and a haircut you can depend on.

BUILT ONE RELATIONSHIP AT A TIME.

03 / WHY WE DO IT

GRACE
FIRST.

β€œFor it is by grace you have been saved, through faith...”
EPHESIANS 2:8

Our faith shapes the way we want to lead and serve. Just as Christ graciously gave His life as a gift, each shop, team member, and client that we get to work with is a gift. It is not because of anything we have done. This is something we want to always remember. Circa is a place for people from every background, and our hope is that anyone who walks through our doors feels seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.

04 / WHAT CAME NEXT

GOOD PEOPLE
BUILT THIS.

Growth has never just meant opening another shop. It has meant creating room for barbers to build careers, lead teams, become partners, and serve new neighborhoods while keeping the same standard that started with one chair.

THE CRAFT TAKE THE WORK SERIOUSLY.
THE PEOPLE SERVE WITHOUT EGO.
THE FUTURE MAKE ROOM FOR OTHERS.

WHAT HASN'T CHANGED

GOOD
HAIRCUTS.
GOOD
PEOPLE.

Circa looks different than it did in 2014, but the point is still the same: do good work, care for people, and build shops where clients and barbers both want to be. We are grateful you are part of the story.
